SeoulfulRacing has a handful of a Genesis coupe on display, this time a supercharged 3.8L V6 with 430RWHP. Thats more than most entry level sports cars! Combined with the excellent chassis, it should yield a boatload of fun on the road and on the track. They also hint that a kit may be available soon over in the states, so keep your eyes peeled! Beyond Redline has taken apart the exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly from the 2.0T Genesis Coupe. No surprises here, a typical log manifold with a rather small TD04-based Mitsubishi turbocharger. Click here to see this thread on GenCoupe Forums. They have also fabbed up their prototype bar and plate aftermarket intercooler upgrade for the 2.0T Genesis Coupe. They say that it is the largest core you can fit in the front end without structural modifications – and with a great high quality core this provides at least a 20hp improvement over similar aftermarket intercoolers. I don’t know where this build orginated from (Sources say Autz in Korea, but I can’t find anything about them) but I’m seeing threads for it made on a bunch of websites like GenCoupe and LowMotion - what we have here is another member with the V6 model with an aftermarket turbo bolted on. This particular one has a rebuilt engine with forged internals to be able to make a very healthy 504PS (496HP) to the wheels. As of 3pm this afternoon we picked up our first Genesis 2.0T Track coupe. Our special projects technician Ivan Phipps just signed the paperwork. We drove it right to the shop and started our long but detailed analysis of what needs to be done.

1. The exhaust is pretty bottlenecked as we expected…big room for improvement there
2. There is CAVERNOUS room for an AMS Turbo kit so see that in the very near future
3. IC pipe and an intake should be able to be worked up very quickly
4. The tuners here are already on the case for re mapping the ECU
5. Looks to be a returnless fuel system so we will have to fix that.
6. Speed density for air metering so a vent to atmosphere BOV should work without a hitch on the car

Moosh over at GenesisDriven dug up some interesting information. Turns out Edmunds dynoed their 2.0T Genesis Coupe, and it seems to be making considerably more power than advertised. Click here for more info!

We tested a bone stock Genesis Coupe 2.0T on MD Automotive’s Dynojet chassis dyno located in Westminster, CA. Hyundai says its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder generates 210 hp and 223 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel, and like most factory ratings for turbo cars, those numbers are a bit on the conservative side.
