Houston’s RiceKiller.com Meet 10/02/2009
The first meetup of the weekly RKC Houston meet. I couldn't stay too long; but the photos that I was able to take are here. Small meet in the beginning, as most people showed up and left. The crowd changed significantly as the hours wore on, so there was a nice spread of cars. However, since I was only able to stay for a 20 minute window, I wasn't able to see everything.
Underground Graphics Meet Houston, TX
A smattering of Subarus, a few Evo's and a boosted S2k all met up at Underground Graphics in Houston to do some early Saturday meeting, greeting, and drinking. Some true beasts were on show, such as the hot Forester XT, a supercharged Honda S2000, and two smoking Lancer Evolutions. Keith from AWDTuning.com did a few road tunes, and Mike from Dent Wizard was on hand to work his magic with some truely incredible results. Great people all around, and some great cars to be seen. Kei Truck Drifting
Oh, Japan. When will you cease to put out tons of funny stuff that people overseas just can't seem to understand. What's a Kei truck? It's basically a mini truck, like a Kei car is a mini car, except they're trucks, you know with a bed and stuff. Often found in 4x4 configuration, they're useful for the farmers that need to have a cheap and reliable form of transporting goods around on bad terrain, like in the mountains. Focus Auto Sales graciously loaned their $120k 1999 R34 Nissan Skyline GTR Vspec in factory Lightning Yellow (one of the rarest R34 GTR colors available) for this test drive. Stanley Ku and his (Dad’s) Amazing Garage

These pictures are from a couple Saturdays ago. I came home and my dad was just able to take the R34 out for a spin. But since I got home just in time, he told me to take it out instead. The parking in my garage is tandem so the S2000 must come out before the R34 could get out. I diagonally parked my E30 there so it won’t block the driveway. Since all the cars were outside, it was a good opportunity to take a few quick pictures.

2.0T Genesis Coupe Strapped to Dyno
Moosh over at GenesisDriven dug up some interesting information. Turns out Edmunds dynoed their 2.0T Genesis Coupe, and it seems to be making considerably more power than advertised. Click here for more info!
We tested a bone stock Genesis Coupe 2.0T on MD Automotive’s Dynojet chassis dyno located in Westminster, CA. Hyundai says its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder generates 210 hp and 223 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel, and like most factory ratings for turbo cars, those numbers are a bit on the conservative side.
